Asian Para Games: Sumit Antil leads India’s 30-medal haul on Day 3

India’s medal tally reached 64 (15 gold, 20 silver, 29 bronze), with this being the most successful day, where 17 of the 30 medals, including all six golds, came from athletics. Antil, aged 25, exceeded his previous world record of 70.83m. He was joined on the podium by another Indian, Pushpendra Singh, who claimed the bronze with a 62.06m throw. Antil, who hails from Sonepat, achieved this remarkable feat in the F64 category for athletes with a leg amputation, competing with prosthetics in a standing position.
