Rohit becomes first Indian batter to hit 50 ODI sixes in a calendar year

Rohit Sharma continues to showcase his batting prowess in the World Cup with the Indian skipper becoming the first batter from the country to hit 50 sixes in a calendar year in ODIs. Rohit achieved the milestone during the World Cup match against New Zealand in Dharamsala when he clobbered Matt Henry over cow corner for a huge six. Overall, he is the third batter to smash fifty ODI sixes in a calendar year after former South Africa skipper AB de Villiers (58 sixes in 2015) and explosive West Indies opener Chris Gayle (56 sixes in 2019).
