Warner overtakes Ponting to hit most WC tons by an Aussie player


David Warner achieved this feat during his team’s World Cup 2023 match against the Netherlands at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium. In the game, Warner produced a remarkable innings, scoring 104 runs off 93 balls, including 11 fours and three sixes, at a strike rate exceeding 111. This marked his second consecutive century in the tournament, following his impressive 163 against Pakistan. With this achievement, Warner now boasts six World Cup centuries, surpassing Ponting’s previous record of five tons in his World Cup career.
